The Assassin’s Creed series always has the propensity to get a little bit crazy and Assassin’s Creed Unity is stepping things up a notch in the latest trailer. A time anomaly appears to affect Arno while he’s hustling and bustling his way around Paris, performing a reverse synchronisation and ripping him into a bizarre time warp, leaving 18th century Paris behind.
Whatever the case, it involves scaling the Eiffel Tower which looks suitably epic, although the fact that Eiffel Tower wasn’t (quickly Googles) constructed until 1889 suggesting he’s teleported a fair chunk into the future. World War 2 in fact, because the sky’s busy with machine-gun-toting blimps while a looming electric cloud makes the whole thing look like it’s gone a bit Independence Day.
As per Assassin’s Creed’s Animus segments this latest trailers throws up a lot more questions than it does answers, but here’s hoping Ubisoft can weave in something to explain it all in a manner approaching reasonable. On the surface it looks like an excuse has been cooked up to climb the Eiffel Tower, but who are we complain about that.
